Morning Joe Loses Viewers Following Scarborough’s Trump Criticism
Morning Joe ratings have been falling ever since Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski criticized Donald Trump on their MSNBC show. The latest Nielsen data shows that Morning Joe had 1.6 million viewers on the 25th of April, a loss of about 300,000 viewers for the same day last year.
Scarborough and Brzezinski have been outspoken critics of Trump, often calling him out on his controversial statements and policies. Their comments have drawn the ire of Trump supporters, who have accused them of being biased against the president. Trump himself has also criticized Morning Joe on numerous occasions.
In an interview with The New York Times, Scarborough said that he and Brzezinski were not trying to be biased against Trump. He said that they were simply reporting on the news and giving their opinions. “We’re not going to sugarcoat anything,” Scarborough said. “We’re going to tell the truth, no matter who it offends.”
Despite Scarborough’s comments, Morning Joe ratings have continued to decline. It remains to be seen whether the show can recover its lost viewers. If the ratings continue to fall, it is possible that MSNBC could cancel the show.
