Swiatek wins in singles and doubles as Poland moves into BJK Cup semifinals

Poland reached the BJK Cup semifinals after Iga Swiatek won her singles match and teamed up with Alicja Rosolska to win the doubles against Romania

Swiatek, the world number one, defeated Ana Bogdan 6-2 6-0 in the opening singles match in Radom, Poland.

The 20-year-old, who has won two Grand Slam titles this year, broke Bogdan's serve five times and saved the only break point she faced.

In the second singles match, Magda Linette defeated Irina Bara 6-3 6-4 to give Poland an unassailable 2-0 lead.

Swiatek and Rosolska then sealed Poland's victory by defeating Raluca Olaru and Monica Niculescu 6-1 6-2 in the doubles match.

Poland will face either Australia or Belgium in the semifinals.

Swiatek's victory extends her winning streak to 18 matches

Swiatek has not lost a match since February, when she was defeated by Jelena Ostapenko in the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

Since then, Swiatek has won the Qatar Open, the Indian Wells Masters, the Miami Open, the Stuttgart Open, the Italian Open, and the French Open.

She is the first woman to win six WTA titles in a row since Serena Williams in 2013.

Poland is now one win away from reaching the BJK Cup final for the first time since 1992

Poland has never won the BJK Cup, but they have reached the final twice, in 1992 and 2006.

If they can defeat either Australia or Belgium in the semifinals, they will face either the Czech Republic or the United States in the final.

The BJK Cup is the largest annual international team competition in women's tennis. It is contested by teams from 116 countries.
