Luis de la Fuente eases injury fears for Spain pair after Denmark victory
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente has allayed injury concerns for Sergio Busquets and Ferran Torres after the duo missed training on Tuesday.
Busquets was forced off in the first half of Spain's 2-1 friendly win over Albania on Saturday with an ankle injury, while Torres picked up a knock in training on Monday.
But De la Fuente has confirmed that both players are expected to be fit for Spain's next game, a friendly against Denmark on Sunday.
"Sergio is fine," De la Fuente said at a press conference on Tuesday. "He had a little discomfort in his ankle, but he's already training normally."
"Ferran is also fine. He had a knock in training, but it's nothing serious. He's already training with the group and he'll be available for the game against Denmark."
The news will come as a relief to De la Fuente, who is already without a number of key players through injury.
Aymeric Laporte, Pau Torres, and Pedri are all out injured, while Gavi is suspended for the game against Denmark.
However, De la Fuente is confident that his team can still get a good result against Denmark, who are ranked 10th in the FIFA World Rankings.
"Denmark is a very good team," De la Fuente said. "They're very well-organized and they have some very good players."
"But we're confident that we can get a good result. We have a good team and we're playing at home."
Spain will be looking to build on their impressive performance against Albania, in which they dominated possession and created a number of chances.
De la Fuente will be hoping that his team can continue to play with the same intensity and quality against Denmark.
