Lizelle becomes first woman to score consecutive WBBL centuries
Lizelle Lee has become the first woman to score consecutive centuries in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL).
The South African opener achieved the feat with an unbeaten 104 off 60 balls for the Melbourne Stars against the Sydney Sixers at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday.
Lee's knock helped the Stars to a comfortable six-wicket victory and moved her to the top of the WBBL run-scoring charts with 249 runs from four innings.
The 30-year-old is in excellent form this season and has now scored three fifties and two centuries in her four innings.
Lee's first century came in the Stars' opening match of the season against the Adelaide Strikers, when she made 102 off 56 balls.
She followed that up with a 54 against the Hobart Hurricanes and a 56 against the Perth Scorchers before her match-winning century against the Sixers.
Lee is a key player for the Stars and her form will be crucial if they are to challenge for the WBBL title this season.
The Stars are currently in second place on the WBBL ladder with three wins and one loss from their four matches.
They will be back in action on Tuesday when they take on the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba.
The Heat are also in good form and have won three of their four matches this season.
The match between the Stars and the Heat is sure to be a close one and could have a major impact on the race for the WBBL title.
