Giants Bench QB Jones, Turn to DeVito
Giants Make a Quarterback Change
The New York Giants have benched quarterback Daniel Jones and will start backup Tyrod Taylor in their Week 18 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The move comes after Jones struggled in the Giants' 27-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17.
Jones completed just 17 of 32 passes for 177 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions against the Colts.
Taylor to Make First Start of 2023
Taylor will make his first start of the 2023 season against the Eagles.
The 33-year-old quarterback has appeared in five games this season, completing 28 of 41 passes for 254 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Taylor has also rushed for 55 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries this season.
Giants Hope for Improved Play
The Giants are hoping that Taylor will provide a spark to their offense, which has struggled mightily this season.
The Giants are averaging just 18.4 points per game this season, which ranks 29th in the NFL.
The Giants are also hoping that Taylor can help them avoid a last-place finish in the NFC East.
