The CSU women's basketball team secured a decisive victory over the Wyoming Cowgirls on Saturday afternoon, triumphing with a score of 62-51. The thrilling match showcased both teams' determination and skill, but it was the Lady Rams who emerged victorious, extending their winning streak to three games.

The first quarter set the tone for the game, with both teams battling fiercely for control. The Lady Rams took an early lead, but the Cowgirls fought back, keeping the score close. CSU's defense held strong, forcing several turnovers and limiting Wyoming's scoring opportunities. As the quarter drew to a close, the Lady Rams held a narrow 16-12 advantage.

The second quarter saw the Lady Rams extend their lead. They dominated the boards, outrebounding Wyoming 12-5. Senior forward McKenna Hofschild led the charge, scoring 8 points and grabbing 5 rebounds in the quarter. The Cowgirls struggled to find their rhythm offensively, and the Lady Rams capitalized on their mistakes, building a comfortable 32-22 lead by halftime.

After the break, the Cowgirls came out with renewed energy. They chipped away at the Lady Rams' lead, reducing it to just five points midway through the third quarter. However, CSU weathered the storm, responding with a 7-0 run to regain control of the game. Hofschild continued to dominate inside, scoring 6 points during the run. The Lady Rams entered the fourth quarter with a 45-33 lead.

The fourth quarter was a defensive battle, with both teams struggling to find their shooting touch. The Lady Rams relied on their defense to seal the victory, forcing several key turnovers and holding the Cowgirls to just 18 points in the quarter. Hofschild put the finishing touches on the game, scoring 4 points in the final minutes to secure the 62-51 victory.

Hofschild finished the game with a team-high 18 points and 10 rebounds, recording her second double-double of the season. Redshirt junior guard Myiah McCoy also had a strong performance, scoring 15 points and dishing out 5 assists. The Lady Rams shot 41.7% from the field and held Wyoming to just 32.7% shooting.

With this victory, the Lady Rams improve their record to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in Mountain West play. They will look to continue their winning ways when they host the UNLV Rebels on Tuesday, January 10th.
