Ramses Sigala named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week

Sigala's performance helped Badgers' defense hold Indiana to 16 rushing yards

University of Wisconsin defensive lineman Ramses Sigala has been named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Sigala, a redshirt junior from Cudahy, Wisconsin, had a career-high seven tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, in Wisconsin's 28-3 win over Indiana on Saturday.

Sigala's performance helped the Badgers' defense hold Indiana to just 16 rushing yards, the fewest rushing yards allowed by Wisconsin since 2019.

This is the first time Sigala has been named Big Ten Player of the Week.

Sigala and the Badgers will be back in action on Saturday when they host No. 3 Ohio State at Camp Randall Stadium.
