Croatia claimed the narrowest of victories in their Nations League match against Portugal, with Bruno Petkovic's finish six minutes from time ultimately proving to be the difference between the two teams. Croatia came out flying in the second half, and had the ball in the net within two minutes when Andrej Kramaric equalized after being set up by Mateo Kovacic. After this, it seemed that only one team was in the ascendency, and that was Croatia. Luka Modric showed all his experience and skill to set up Petkovic for the winner, and give his team an important win in the wake of their opening defeat to Austria.Croatia now top the group after that win, with Portugal in a disappointing third. The reigning champions will need to pick themselves up quickly for their match against the Czech Republic on Thursday.
