"There Was a Thought for Sure Whether Jadeja Is Overpriced" - Aakash Chopra on CSK's Retentions Ahead of IPL 2025 Auction
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have retained just five players ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction.
The franchise released several big names, including Ravindra Jadeja, who was traded to Mumbai Indians (MI).
Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has expressed his surprise at Jadeja's release, saying that the all-rounder is still a valuable asset to any team.
"Jadeja is a world-class all-rounder and he has been one of the most consistent players in the IPL over the years," Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
"He is a genuine match-winner and he can contribute in all three departments of the game."
Chopra added that he understands CSK's decision to release Jadeja, as they need to rebuild their squad.
However, he believes that the franchise may regret their decision in the long run.
"CSK have a lot of work to do ahead of the next auction," Chopra said.
"They have released some key players and they will need to find suitable replacements. It will be interesting to see how they shape up their squad for the next season."
CSK have won four IPL titles, but they have struggled in recent seasons. The franchise finished ninth in the 2022 season and they will be looking to bounce back in 2025.
