Salavat Yulaev Ufa has received good news ahead of its game against Ak Bars Kazan on Tuesday, as Finnish forward Jesse Liivo will miss the game due to injury.

Salavat Yulaev head coach Viktor Koзlov said the team is relieved to not have to face Liivo, who is one of Ak Bars' most dangerous players.

"Liivo is a very good player," Koзlov said. "He's a big guy who can score goals and make plays. He's also a very good skater and penalty killer."

Liivo has been out with a lower-body injury since November 25. He has missed the last three games.

Ak Bars is currently in second place in the Eastern Conference, while Salavat Yulaev is in sixth place.

Liivo's absence is a big boost for Salavat Yulaev, which has been struggling offensively this season.
