Postgame Live: Strong second half aids Michigan to rout over Miami (OH)

After falling behind 10-7 in the first half, the Michigan Wolverines erupted for 28 unanswered points in the second half to defeat the Miami (OH) Redhawks, 35-17, on Saturday at Michigan Stadium.
Michigan's offense struggled in the first half, but came alive in the second half
The Wolverines started the game with a promising drive, but it ended with a missed field goal. Miami (OH) took advantage of the opportunity and drove down the field for a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead.
Michigan responded with a touchdown drive of its own, but Miami (OH) answered right back with a field goal to take a 10-7 lead into halftime.
The Wolverines came out firing in the second half, scoring touchdowns on their first three possessions to take a 28-10 lead. Miami (OH) added a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to overcome Michigan's big second half.
The Michigan defense was stout all game long
The Wolverines' defense held Miami (OH) to just 254 total yards and forced three turnovers. The Redhawks were just 4-of-14 on third down and 1-of-3 on fourth down.
Michigan's defense was led by linebacker Josh Ross, who had 10 tackles, including two tackles for loss. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson also had a strong game, with nine tackles and two sacks.
The win is a good start for the Wolverines
The win over Miami (OH) is a good start for the Wolverines, who are now 1-0 on the season. Michigan will face a much tougher test next week when they travel to Washington to take on the Huskies.
But for now, the Wolverines can enjoy their victory and look forward to next week's challenge.
