Poland 0-1 Scotland: Lyndon Dykes Stunner Gives Scots Dream Start To Nations League Campaign
Scotland made a winning start to their UEFA Nations League campaign with a deserved 1-0 victory away to Poland.
Lyndon Dykes scored the only goal of the game in the 26th minute, with a stunning strike from 25 yards out.
The win gives Scotland a great start to their Group B1 campaign, and will give them confidence ahead of their next match against Ukraine on Wednesday.
Poland started the game brightly, but it was Scotland who had the first clear-cut chance when Dykes fired wide from inside the area.
Scotland took the lead in the 26th minute when Dykes picked up the ball on the left-hand side of the area and curled a superb effort into the far corner.
Poland pushed for an equaliser in the second half, but Scotland defended resolutely and held on for a famous victory.
The win is a major boost for Scotland manager Steve Clarke, who has now won four of his last five games in charge.
It is also a significant result for Scotland, who have not won away to a top-10 ranked team since 2008.
Scotland will now be looking to build on this victory when they face Ukraine in their next match.
