A deadly outbreak of E. coli has prompted the recall of organic carrots sold under various brands, including Trader Joe's and President's Choice.
The affected carrots were sourced from Taylor Farms and distributed to retailers across the United States and Canada. The recall includes organic carrots sold in 1-pound bags, 2-pound bags, and 5-pound bags.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified nine people who have become ill with E. coli infections after consuming contaminated carrots. One person has died, and several others have been hospitalized.

- Diarrhea (often bloody)

- Cook meat thoroughly to an internal temperature of 160°F.
- Avoid drinking unpasteurized milk or juice.
