Multi-part detective series premiere
The premiere of the long-awaited multi-part detective series "The confrontation" took place on the First channel. The film is a new film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Yulian Semёnov, and its plot is based on the fate of the Stirlitz intelligence officer, familiar to the audience from the cult TV series "Seventeen Moments of Spring".The action of the new project takes place immediately after the end of the Great Patriotic War, when Stirlitz and his group are hunting for the remaining Wehrmacht officers in Europe. The main character in the new series is the young intelligence officer Sanya Morozov, performed by Vladislav Konoplyov. Coming from the front as a war hero, he becomes Stirlitz's adjutant, and together they have to investigate and neutralize the secret organization "Werewolf" led by Otto Skorzeny.
According to the creators of the series, the new version of the novel by Julian Semёnov is not a remake of the famous Soviet TV series, but an independent work, in which the main events are based on real historical events and operations carried out by Soviet intelligence after the war.
Stirlitz's return
The creators of the film claim that the work on the new version of "The confrontation" lasted almost two years, and its budget amounted to several hundred million rubles. The main intrigue for the audience is the question of who will play the role of Stirlitz in the new adaptation. The director of the series, Sergei Ursulyak, kept the intrigue until the very last moment: the actor's name was announced only a couple of days before the premiere. The choice of the director fell on Aleksey Guskov, who previously starred in the TV series "Quiet Don".
According to Alexei, Stirlitz is an important character in his life. The actor admitted that in his youth he admired the courage, willpower and intelligence of the hero of the famous TV series, but at the same time he understood that as an actor he would never be able to play Stirlitz. That is why the proposal to star in a new version of the film came as a complete surprise to him.
The path to a new picture
The idea of filming a new film adaptation of "The confrontation" belongs to producer Alexander Akopov. According to him, the project began to take shape about five years ago, but it was the selection of the main character that took the most time.
Akopov also noted that he and the director of the series, Sergei Ursulyak, agreed from the start that they would not copy the Soviet film adaptation, but would make a film about today's perception of that time. According to Sergei Ursulyak, "The confrontation" is primarily a story about the fate of a man, and the character of Stirlitz is the most interesting for him as a film director. The main task of the creators of the film was to tell in a new way a story that already knows and loves the viewer, from a modern and realistic perspective.
