Morocco Qualifies for 2024 Africa Cup of Nations
Lesotho Defeated in Decisive Qualifier
Rabat, Morocco - The Morocco national football team has secured qualification for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Lesotho 2-0 in a crucial qualifier on Tuesday.
Goals from Youssef En-Nesyri and Hakim Ziyech in the first half proved to be decisive as Morocco dominated the match from start to finish.
The victory means that Morocco will join 23 other nations in the tournament, which will be held in Ivory Coast from June 23 to July 23, 2024.
Morocco's Dominant Performance
Morocco controlled possession throughout the match and created numerous scoring opportunities. En-Nesyri opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a close-range header, while Ziyech doubled the lead just 10 minutes later with a stunning free kick.
Lesotho struggled to create any clear-cut chances and was unable to test the Moroccan defense.
Qualification Secured
With the victory, Morocco has now qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations for the third consecutive time. The team will be looking to improve on its performance in the 2021 tournament, where it was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
