More Severe Thunderstorms Forecast for KZN

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning for severe thunderstorms in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on Thursday, 16 March 2023. The warning is in effect for the entire province, including Durban, Pietermaritzburg, and Richards Bay.
The SAWS warns that the thunderstorms could bring heavy rain, hail, and strong winds. There is also a risk of flooding in low-lying areas.
The SAWS advises residents to take precautions and stay indoors during the thunderstorms. Motorists should avoid driving through flooded areas.

- Avoid using landlines and mobile phones.
- If you are outside, seek shelter in a sturdy building or vehicle.
