Hobart's Star Shines in WBBL

Lee Blasts Hobart to Victory

Lizelle Lee's record-breaking performance propelled the Hobart Hurricanes to a thrilling victory over the Perth Scorchers in the ongoing Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). The South African batter smashed an unbeaten 127 off just 67 deliveries, guiding the Hurricanes to a six-wicket triumph.

Chasing a daunting total of 181, Lee orchestrated a stunning chase, smashing 15 boundaries and 4 sixes. Her blistering innings eclipsed the previous WBBL record of 126, set by Melbourne Stars batter Elyse Villani in 2018.

Lee's heroics not only earned her the Player of the Match award but also lifted the Hurricanes to second place on the WBBL standings. The win marked a significant turnaround for Hobart, who had endured a tough start to the season.

Adelaide Strikers Edge Scorchers in Low-Scoring Thriller

Close Encounter Ends in Strikers' Favor

In another captivating WBBL encounter, the Adelaide Strikers narrowly defeated the Perth Scorchers by two wickets in a low-scoring thriller. Batting first, the Scorchers posted a modest total of 111, thanks to contributions from captain Sophie Devine (27) and Heather Graham (25).

In response, the Strikers struggled in the chase, losing wickets at regular intervals. However, a gritty half-century from Katie Mack (52) kept their hopes alive. With the scores level in the final over, Darcie Brown's heroics secured the win for the Strikers.

The victory propelled the Strikers to third place in the WBBL standings, while the Scorchers' poor form continued.
