Liverpool attacker Doak aiming to take Scotland form into Poland clash
Liverpool youngster Ben Doak is determined to take his impressive form for Scotland into their upcoming clash with Poland.
The 17-year-old has been in fine form for the Reds' youth teams this season, scoring nine goals in 15 appearances.
His performances have earned him a call-up to Scot Gemmill's Scotland U21 squad for their upcoming Euro U21 Championships qualifiers.
Doak made his debut for Scotland U21s in their 3-0 win over Lithuania last week, and he is hoping to make his first start for the team against Poland on Tuesday.
"I'm really excited to be involved with the Scotland U21s," Doak said. "It's a great opportunity for me to learn and develop as a player, and I'm hoping to make the most of it.
"I think we have a really good chance of qualifying for the European Championships, and I'm determined to play my part in that."
Scotland U21s are currently top of their qualifying group, having won both of their matches so far.
They will be looking to continue their good form against Poland, who are second in the group with four points from two matches.
Doak is confident that Scotland can get a result against Poland, and he is eager to make his mark on the international stage.
"I'm confident that we can get a result against Poland," Doak said. "We're a good team, and we're all determined to qualify for the European Championships.
"I'm hoping to play a big part in that, and I'm confident that I can make a difference."
Doak's performances for Scotland U21s will be closely monitored by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who is a big admirer of the youngster.
Klopp has already handed Doak his senior debut for Liverpool, and he is likely to give him more opportunities in the future.
Doak is a highly-rated prospect, and he has the potential to become a top player for both Liverpool and Scotland.
