Behrend's Season Ends in Semifinals
Erie, PA – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team saw their season come to an end in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Semifinals on Tuesday night, falling to top-seeded Mount Aloysius College, 76-65.
Mount Aloysius Dominates Second Half
The Lions came out strong in the first half, taking a 37-34 lead into the break. However, the second half was a different story, as Mount Aloysius took control of the game. The Mounties outscored Behrend 42-28 in the second half and held the Lions to just 34.8% shooting from the field.
For Mount Aloysius, senior guard Isaiah Blackmon led the way with 22 points, while junior forward Julian Mayo added 18 points and 10 rebounds. For Behrend, senior guard Isaac Haney led the way with 18 points, while senior forward Stephen Opsitos added 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The loss ends Behrend's season at 18-9 overall. The Lions finished second in the AMCC regular season standings and earned a berth in the AMCC Tournament. Mount Aloysius advances to the AMCC Championship game, where they will face off against No. 2 seed Medaille College.
