The Lesotho national football team, Likuena, were knocked out of the Cosafa Cup at the quarterfinal stage by Morocco’s Atlas Lions. The 2-1 defeat was a disappointing result for Likuena, who had been hoping to use the tournament as preparation for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Likuena started the match brightly and took the lead through a goal from Jane Thabantšo. However, the Atlas Lions hit back with two goals in quick succession to take control of the game.
