Kings vs. Hawks gameday: De’Aaron Fox is on fire, injury updates and three things to watch
De’Aaron Fox is on fire
De’Aaron Fox’s incredible run of form is showing no signs of slowing down. The Kings’ point guard has averaged 28.3 points and 7.3 assists over his last five games, including a 33-point, 9-assist performance in Saturday’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Fox is shooting an efficient 50.0% from the field and 40.0% from three-point range during that stretch. He is also getting to the free throw line more often, averaging 7.0 attempts per game over his last five.
Fox’s hot streak has been a major factor in the Kings’ recent success. They have won five of their last seven games, including two straight wins over the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers.
Injury updates
The Kings will be without Marvin Bagley III (foot) and Richaun Holmes (personal reasons) on Monday night against the Hawks.
Bagley has missed the last six games with a foot injury. Holmes has missed the last two games for personal reasons. It is currently unknown when he will return to the team.
Three things to watch
Here are three things to watch for in Monday night's game between the Kings and Hawks:
1. Can Fox continue his hot streak? Fox has been one of the most impressive players in the NBA over the last few weeks. If he can continue to play at a high level, the Kings will be a tough team to beat.
2. How will the Kings cope without Bagley and Holmes? Bagley and Holmes are two of the Kings’ most important players. If the Kings can find a way to win without them, it will be a major sign of their growth.
3. Will the Hawks be able to slow down Fox? Fox is one of the most dynamic players in the NBA. The Hawks will need to find a way to slow him down if they want to pull off an upset.
