Iran will respond to Israeli threats in its own way: Baghaei
Iranian official warns Israel against making threats, says Tehran will respond in its own way
Tehran will respond to any Israeli threats in its own way, a senior Iranian official said on Tuesday, warning the regime against making any threats against the Islamic Republic.
The remarks by Mojtaba Zolnour, a member of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, came in response to recent threats by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against Iran.
Netanyahu has repeatedly warned that Israel will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons and has threatened to take military action if necessary.
Zolnour dismissed Netanyahu's threats as "empty rhetoric" and said that Iran would not be intimidated by such threats.
"The Zionist regime should know that Iran is not a country that can be threatened," Zolnour said.
"Iran will respond to any threats in its own way and at its own time."
Zolnour's remarks reflect the Iranian government's position that it will not tolerate any threats from Israel and that it will respond to any aggression with force.
Tensions between Iran and Israel have been high for decades, and the two countries have fought several wars in the past.
In recent years, tensions have escalated over Iran's nuclear program, which Israel believes is a threat to its security.
The United States and other Western powers have been trying to negotiate a deal with Iran to limit its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
However, the talks have been stalled for months, and there is no sign of a breakthrough.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that Israel is not a party to the negotiations and has said that it will not be bound by any agreement that is reached.
As a result, tensions between Iran and Israel are likely to remain high for the foreseeable future.
