I-77 Reopens After US Marshals Operation in Jackson Township
Traffic Restored, Investigation Ongoing
Jackson Township, Ohio - Interstate 77 has reopened to traffic after a US Marshals operation earlier today. The operation, which began around 10:30 a.m., involved the arrest of a fugitive wanted for questioning in connection with a homicide in West Virginia. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Stark County Jail.
Traffic Impact
During the operation, I-77 was closed in both directions between the exits for Massillon Road (Exit 108) and Portage Street (Exit 114). Traffic was diverted to nearby roads, causing significant delays. The highway reopened just before 2:00 p.m., and traffic is now moving smoothly.
