Zags Win First WCC Game
Kennel Dominates Wyoming in Kennel Club Debut
The Gonzaga women's basketball team bounced back from their first West Coast Conference (WCC) loss of the season with a dominant 84-57 win over the Wyoming Cowgirls on Thursday night in their Kennel Club debut.
The Zags (10-3, 1-1 WCC) were led by senior forward Yvonne Ejim, who scored a game-high 25 points on 11-of-14 shooting. Ejim also grabbed 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.
Senior guard Kaylynne Truong added 19 points and six assists, while sophomore forward Eliza Hollingsworth chipped in 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Cowgirls (6-7, 0-2 WCC) were led by senior guard Quinn Weidemann, who scored 16 points.
The Zags took control of the game early, jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first three minutes. They never looked back, leading by as many as 30 points in the second half.
The win was Gonzaga's first in the Kennel Club since December 15, 2019. The Kennel Club is the Zags' on-campus arena, which was closed for renovations last season.
The Zags will return to action on Saturday when they host the Portland Pilots in the Kennel Club.
