Ghana wins 3-0 over Niger in Africa Cup of Nations
Ghana's Black Stars have defeated Niger 3-0 in their opening match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Rwanda.
The victory was Ghana's first in the competition since 2015, and it puts them in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages.
Ghana took the lead in the 20th minute through a penalty from Andre Ayew. The Black Stars doubled their lead in the 35th minute, thanks to a goal from Jordan Ayew. Thomas Partey sealed the victory for Ghana in the 60th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box.
Ghana's performance was impressive, and they were deserved winners on the night. They controlled the game from start to finish, and they created several chances to score more goals. Niger had few chances to score, and they were never really in the game.
