DPRK to equip itself with elite armed forces

Seoul, April 28 (KCNA)

The General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA) issued a statement on Wednesday, saying that the DPRK will equip itself with powerful and elite armed forces, so as to reliably guarantee the security of the state and the people and safeguard the dignity and sovereignty of the country from the ever-escalating military threats from the U.S. and its vassal forces.

As the U.S. and its vassal forces get more reckless in their military provocations and threats against the DPRK, the KPA should bolster up its military capabilities and get fully prepared to cope with any sudden situation, the statement said, adding that the modernization of the DPRK’s armed forces is a legitimate right for self-defense and a sovereign right.
