Raipur, Chhattisgarh: The Chhattisgarh government has unveiled an ambitious plan to promote badminton at the grassroots level and identify young talent. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched 'Mission Badminton' on Friday, emphasizing the government's commitment to developing the sport in the state.
The initiative aims to identify and nurture promising badminton players from rural and urban areas. The government will establish badminton academies in districts and provide training facilities, equipment, and coaching support to aspiring players.
"Badminton is an Olympic sport that has brought laurels to our country," said CM Sai. "Through Mission Badminton, we want to create a strong foundation for the sport in Chhattisgarh and produce future champions."
The state government will also host a series of district-level and state-level tournaments to provide a platform for young players to showcase their skills. The top performers from these tournaments will be selected for further training and support.
"We aim to provide a conducive environment for badminton players to thrive," said Arathi Sara Sunil, Sports Secretary, Chhattisgarh. "Mission Badminton will create a structured pathway for young athletes to develop their potential and achieve their dreams."
