Cam Reddish Traded to Utah Jazz in Three-Team Deal
Los Angeles Lakers Acquire Jarred Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley
Jazz Receive Reddish, Talen Horton-Tucker, and a First-Round Pick
In a significant three-team trade, the Los Angeles Lakers have traded Cam Reddish to the Utah Jazz, acquiring Jarred Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley in return. The Jazz also receive Talen Horton-Tucker and a first-round pick in the deal.
Reddish, 23, has struggled to find his footing in Los Angeles since being acquired from the New York Knicks last season. The former lottery pick has averaged just 9.2 points per game on 40.3% shooting in 44 games with the Lakers.
Vanderbilt, 23, is a versatile forward who provides the Lakers with much-needed toughness and rebounding. He is averaging 8.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game this season for the Jazz.
Beasley, 26, is a shooting guard who gives the Lakers another scoring option. He is averaging 13.4 points per game this season, shooting 35.9% from three-point range.
The Jazz, meanwhile, add a young wing with upside in Reddish. The former Duke star has shown flashes of his potential but has yet to put it all together consistently.
Horton-Tucker, 21, is a young guard who has struggled to find his role with the Lakers. The former second-round pick is averaging just 5.6 points per game this season.
The trade is a win-win for both teams. The Lakers get two proven players who can help them compete for a playoff spot, while the Jazz get a young wing with upside and a first-round pick.
