Black's Performance Leads Arkansas to Victory
Anthony Black scored 20 points to lead the Arkansas Razorbacks to a 70-64 victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Tuesday night.
The Razorbacks were clinging to a 59-58 lead with just over two minutes remaining when Black hit a jumper to give Arkansas a three-point lead.
Black then made a steal and assisted on a layup by Davonte Davis to put the Razorbacks up 63-58 with 1:04 remaining.
Mississippi State cut the lead to three points with a layup by Tolu Smith with 31 seconds remaining, but Black made a free throw to give Arkansas a four-point lead.
The Bulldogs had a chance to tie the game with a three-pointer with 10 seconds remaining, but Garrison Brooks' shot was off the mark.
Black's performance was a key factor in the Razorbacks' victory.
The sophomore guard was 8-of-15 from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point range.
He also had six rebounds and five assists.
The Razorbacks improved their record to 16-7 overall and 7-4 in the SEC with the victory.
Mississippi State fell to 14-8 overall and 4-6 in the SEC with the loss.
