Amazon partners with Asda to launch parcel pickup and returns at supermarket stores
Customers can now collect and return Amazon parcels at over 630 Asda stores across the UK
The partnership is part of Amazon's drive to expand its network of pickup and return locations, making it more convenient for customers to shop online
Amazon has partnered with Asda to launch parcel pickup and returns at the supermarket's stores across the UK. The service will be available at over 630 Asda stores, giving customers more convenient options for collecting and returning their Amazon orders.
To use the service, customers simply need to select an Asda store as their preferred pickup or return location when placing an order on Amazon.co.uk. They will then receive a notification when their order is ready to be collected or returned. Customers can collect their orders from the designated Amazon Pickup point in-store, while returns can be made at the customer service desk.
The partnership with Asda is part of Amazon's drive to expand its network of pickup and return locations, making it more convenient for customers to shop online. Amazon already has a network of over 2,500 pickup locations across the UK, including Amazon Lockers, Collect+ points, and local convenience stores.
The move comes as more and more people are shopping online, with the pandemic accelerating the shift to e-commerce. In 2021, online sales in the UK grew by 18.5% to reach £131.3 billion, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Amazon's partnership with Asda is likely to be welcomed by customers, as it gives them more options for collecting and returning their orders. It is also likely to benefit Asda, as it could attract more customers to its stores.
